Events in Northern California
Don’t want to travel too far for the festivities? These events are basically right next door to you!
Sky Spectacular – Sacramento, CA
This event starts a bit earlier than most, which makes it perfect for those looking to spend New Year’s Eve with family or children! Join the Sacramento community in this tradition, as fireworks fill the skies above Old Sacramento. This celebration is free to attend and open to all residents, featuring activities for the whole family to enjoy. Look out for the children’s programming, live music, food and drink vendors, along with a variety of colorful street entertainment!
Embarcadero Fireworks Show – San Francisco
When the clock strikes 12, the Embarcadero Fireworks Show will begin! Find these beautiful fireworks above the Ferry Building. This event is absolutely free so we’d recommend arriving a bit earlier! While many people like to stand right in front of the building, we personally think the best viewing spots are south of Sinbad’s Restaurant along the Embarcadero, between Mission and Folsom Street!
Southern California
If Northern California is a bit far for you, stay where you are! We’ve got a can’t-miss event that everyone is buzzing about in SoCal!
Now we know what you’re thinking… Why visit Disneyland on the busiest day of the year? Well, New Year’s Eve here is different that any other day! Open to guests who visit their theme parks that day, Disney begins their first firework show at 9 pm and throws another at 11:59 pm. Having 2 shows makes it a flexible option for families with younger children! Straying from the daily Disneyland Forever fireworks, this special night of will light up the sky with a combination of festive and explosive fireworks, accommodated with classic music and a countdown to midnight for both East coast and West coast time zones! Nevada
Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten about those of you who live in or closer to Nevada! This next one’s for you!
Every year, Nevada is known to host an exciting street party where everyone gets out and joins in on the fun just prior to midnight. But the fun doesn’t stop there! On this special night, fireworks shoot off of 4 different rooftops, each launching thousands of pyrotechnics that can be viewed all along the city’s landscape! Bring a friend or a loved one along because this is one night, you’ll want to remember!
