The holidays are fast approaching and things are about to get hectic! But that doesn’t mean you can’t still escape from work or life’s little stresses. This November, take some time to see what’s going on in your community.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

The Color Run
Billed as the “happiest 5K on the planet,” the event features runners bathed in a tropical array of colors and island scents as they pass under the shade of palm trees and inflatable arches.

Festival of Lights
The historic Mission Inn Hotel & Spa is decorated for the holidays with more than 4 million LED lights and 400-plus animated angels, elves and other characters. It’s the focal point of the 25th annual celebration that also includes horse-drawn carriage rides, an ice-skating rink, carolers and other musicians. It all adds up to an event that’s been named the “Best Holiday Festival” in the country by USA Today. The exciting “switch-on” ceremony, the night after Thanksgiving, is punctuated by a 15-minute fireworks show.

Dana Point Turkey Trot
The Thanksgiving event will celebrate its 40th year with a 10k, 5k and Kids Gobble Wobble on a flat, scenic course.

Sawdust Winter Fantasy Festival
Festival grounds will be transformed into a winter wonderland where hundreds of artists create, display and sell original artworks. Experience holiday entertainment, outdoor cafes, art classes and demonstrations, a petting zoo and visits with Santa.

Lynbrook Holiday Craft Faire
Start your holiday shopping early! Join us in the 37th Annual Lynbrook Holiday Craft Faire featuring handcrafted items from over 100 vendors. It is one of the largest in the West Valley and the perfect place to find a gift for young and old alike. Enjoy hot food, great music, bake sale, artwork and raffles.

San Jose Harvest Festival Original Art and Craft Show

Golden Gate Half Marathon
The Golden Gate Half Marathon is an annual event that takes runners over the Golden Gate Bridge during the race. Your run starts near Fisherman’s Wharf at the Municipal Pier. You will then run along the waterfront, up and over the Golden Gate Bridge, and return back to San Francisco. The race ends in the beautiful Presidio.

When: November 5, 2017
