PPG to Co-Sponsor, Present Two Papers at 2016 Electrocoating Seminar

PPG will co-sponsor and present two technical papers at the 2016 Electrocoating Seminar in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 4th-5th. The speakers will cover electrocoating basics, troubleshooting, elimination of defects

Gary Orosz, PPG application process manager, electrocoat (e-coat), will present “Electrocoat Basics” to open the seminar on Oct. 4th, at 8:40 a.m. CT He will cover the two types of electrocoating processes, anodic and cathodic, as well as epoxy and acrylic-based paints and their intended uses. Orosz will discuss advantages of each e-coat process type; e-coat chemistry, processes and applications; and how to increase operational and cost efficiencies.

Joe Bethoski, PPG Customer Response Chemist, electrocoat, will present “Process Contamination / Electrocoating Defects,” on Oct. 5th at 12:40 p.m. CT. He will review common e-coat practices and discuss typical process contamination problems and defects and how they can be resolved. Bethoski will also define the troubleshooting process and demonstrate its use in the finishing process.

The Electrocoating Seminar is presented by the Electrocoat Association and Chemical Coaters Association International, and co-sponsored by PPG. This seminar is an interactive program designed to meet the varying technical needs of electrocoaters and related professionals including line operators, material engineers, sales professionals and industry executives. The educational program encompasses the basics of e-coat, as well as cost, process and quality controls, troubleshooting and emerging technologies.
