No Gray Area When It Comes To New PPG™ Primers

If you’ve been using the Gray Epoxy Primer that PPG^™ introduced last June in its DELFLEET^® Evolution premium commercial paint system, you’ll want to know that PPG^™ Commercial Coatings just rolled out two new primer colors.

In addition to the F4921 Gray Epoxy Primer, the company now offers F4921WH–2.1 White Epoxy Primer and F4921BK–2.1 Black Epoxy Primer.

In its product announcement last month, J.J. Wirth, the brand manager of fleet segments, said: “Adding these two primers to the DELFLEET^® Evolution brand makes our product lineup even more flexible. These are multipurpose high-quality primers with fast-drying characteristics that will help speed cycle times and productivity in shops of all sizes.”

The new primers have low VOC, or volatile organic compounds, making them compliant in all parts of the United States. PPG^™ says the “new primers are exceptionally versatile and can be matched with an array of substrates including aluminum, cold rolled steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, galvaneal, fiberglass and cured surfaces.”

These new primers bring superior adhesion and corrosion resistance, are fast drying, can be applied over bare metal as a protective layer or as a sealer over existing finishes and can be top coated as primer sealers in as little as 30 minutes, according to PPG^™.

The company notes that its DELFLEET^® Evolution system represents its “latest advancement in fleet coatings technology and has become the finish system of choice for commercial vehicle manufacturers and fleet maintenance operators who want the ultimate in performance and durability. Incorporating proven technology, total color solutions and best-in-class service, this premium, painter-friendly system delivers the color, gloss and durability demanded for harsh day-in, day-out work environments.”
