Two Great LA Car Museums Are Offering Virtual Tours

Are you missing out on your favorite annual car shows and adventures to area car museums? Well, you are in luck!

Both the Mullin Automotive Museum, in Oxnard, and The Petersen Automotive Museum, in Los Angeles, are offering virtual tours of their collections. Gather the whole family, connect the computer to your tv and enjoy the fabulous collections of these amazing museums.

The Mullin

The Mullin is webcasting virtual tours on its Instagram page (@mullinmuseum) weekly. Except for the smells, it is almost as good as being there in person. A knowledgeable tour guide of the Mullin walks viewers through the museum, giving viewers a bit of entertainment as well as knowledge on the vehicles. Whether it is the immaculate Citroens, or the wonderful Bugatti cars spread throughout the museum, you will be awed by the tour. Viewers are encouraged to send in their questions during the tour on Instagram (@mullinmuseum) for the tour guide, who will be happy to answer the questions as he goes throughout the museum. Even before the coronavirus pandemic, there were not ample opportunities to view The Mullin’s collection. When it officially opened a few years ago to the public, it was open only every other Saturday, so getting your schedule to line up could have been difficult. Now you can enjoy the museum from the comfort of your home. Learn more..

The Petersen Automotive Museum

The Petersen Automotive Museum is another of the world’s most spectacular car museums. The Petersen, located right off the 101 freeway, has been giving children activities and instructional video lessons since March. Now, The Petersen has announced it will give virtual tours for their customers as well. The tour will be 60 to70 minutes long and will cover the gems of the vault while the staff answers any questions you may have during the tour. These tours will give you access to areas of the vault that are not usually accessible to the public, including under the hood and inside some of the vehicles. Unlike the Mullin, the Petersen Museum will be charging to attend this amazing tour, but it’s a modest fee of $3, which is a 90% discount from the regular price of admission. This money goes to maintaining the collection and supporting the staff during the lockdown. To sign up for the virtual tour, click here.
