Just because Summer is over, doesn’t mean you can’t still escape from work and have fun with the family! This October, take some time to see what’s going on in your community:

Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series – San Jose

The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series’ main focus is to make running fun! On an annual basis, athletes are welcomed to join the marathon as renowned bands cheer them on. From October 1^st to 2^nd, the event will make a stop in San Jose! There’s a lot to do besides run, including getting health information and nutrition from top professionals and athletes.

Downtown San Jose Farmers Market – San Jose

Also in San Jose this October is the Downtown San Jose Farmers Market! Looking for the perfect pumpkin to carve? Then head over every Friday in October! It never fails to deliver farm-fresh produce from 30 of the best California-based growers.

Festival of Colors – Santa Cruz

The Festival of Colors is a modern Adaptation of the traditional Holi festival, but instead of India, it will be in Santa Cruz. This festival allows all individuals to forget their worries and enjoy the beautiful colors surrounding them. On October 22nd, it will welcome people of all ages to come and enjoy the live music, yoga, and a number of vegetarian dishes.

The Old Sacramento Magic Festival – Sacramento

The Old Sacramento Magic Festival makes its way to town in October and allows people to watch in awe while being surrounded by magicians of all kinds. It is comprised of 3 wondrous days that features renowned magicians, rising stars, and local talent! It is a perfect get-away from the real world the wonderful world of magic!

Sacred Heart Fall Festival – Sacramento

Located in Sacred Heart Parish School, Sacramento, this fundraising festival is the best way to start off the Month! Jam-packed with entertaining activities, live music, and great food, the Sacred Fall Festival is the perfect place for a family friendly outing.

La Jolla Art & Wine Festival – Southern California

On October 8th and 9th, the La Jolla Art & Wine Festival will transform the beautiful coastal bluffs into a hub for all artists, breweries and wineries. Being one of the most prestigious art and wine festivals in southern California, it is an experience you don’t want to miss! Free to the public, this event has something for everyone. Throughout the 2 day experience, there will be a silent auction, gourmet marketplace, art center and a wine and beer garden. This festival embraces community and has been working to fundraise for local public schools since launching in 2009.

If you are a Seafood lover, then the second annual OFF THE HOOK Seafood Festival is the place for you! It gathers Los Angeles’s top chefs and allows them showcase their best seafood dishes. On October 1st, enjoy oysters, fish, mussels and much more, all while listening to live music, playing game, or learning more about the sustainable seafood movement.

San Francisco BBQ Festival – San Francisco

Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival – Half Moon Bay

Being the pumpkin capital of the world, it is only fitting that Half Moon Bay is renowned for its Art and Pumpkin Festival. Taking place on October 15th & 16th, this event embraces the autumn season and pays homage to all that is pumpkin. You can witness some of the world’s largest pumpkins, see artists carve intricate jack o’lanterns and taste pumpkin infused foods!
