This month, PPG Automotive Refinish will offer a number of classes at its Los Angeles Business Development Center, 1427 S. Cucamonga Ave., Ontario, CA. Upcoming classes, in English and Spanish, include:

• MVP Advanced Estimating – May 16 and 17

Course description: The damage estimate is the critical first step in the repair process. By doing it right consistently, throughput performance, insurance relationships, and profitability can improve dramatically. Get it wrong and vehicles sit and wait for supplement approvals as overall performance and customer satisfaction diminishes. Using real-world case studies, this two-day course provides an in-depth review of the estimating process. It also highlights the best practices and tools needed for creating technically accurate estimates that ensure established targets for quality, speed and costs are met. Estimating is a key area of focus when looking for process improvement opportunities.

• MVP Production and Cycle Time Management – May 16 and 17

Course description: Demands on cycle time are increasing at lightning pace. This course focuses on “keys-to-keys” practical applications used by progressive collision centers to improve cycle time performance and enable vehicles to flow smoothly through the production process. Participants will also gain insight to successfully manage the most important asset in a collision center—the production staff! Come learn game changing principles and improvements that can be implemented on the shop floor to dramatically advance production and reduce cycle time in your shop. Join us to expand your understating of production and cycle time management.

• PPG Certification – Envirobase HP – May 18 and 19

Course description: Envirobase High Performance Waterborne Certification (2 day) As a core program of PPG Certification training, this program trains refinish technicians in personal safety, paint chemical and waterborne fundamentals, and repair procedures using PPG’s Envirobase^® High Performance Waterborne Basecoat Refinish System.
