Pagenaud drives PPG-painted Chevy to another Team Penske victory

Last Month, team Penske honored their sponsor, PPG, with the Honda Indy 200 Owner’s Trophy. Team Penske winner, Simon Pagenaud, had driven his PPG Dallara/Chevrolet to victory at the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio, with team member, Will Power, coming 2nd place. Team Penske had made their major sponsor proud!

Within the 2nd season, Pagenaud had obtained 4 wins including: the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama and the Angie’s List Grand Prix of Indianapolis. With his latest win in Ohio, Pagenaud had increased his lead in the driver championship standings to 58 points. After his win, Pagenaud praised PPG, claiming that it was his PPG Chevrolet that has brought him good luck. Pagenaud was driving his luminous blue and white PPG water-based finish Chevrolet during 3 out of 4 of his wins.

Team Penske had honored PPG by presenting them with their trophy, showing appreciation for PPG’s long term sponsorship. John Outcalt, PPG Vice President excited to hear the news, said that PPG and team Penske have had mutually beneficial relationship for several decades and expressed admiration for Team Penske’s exceptional performances.
