Where: Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe
This annual master’s event pits some the fastest skiers in the sport against each other in Giant Slalom. Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe is the closest ski resort to Reno (only 25 minutes) and is Lake Tahoe’s highest base resort at 8,260 feet. The Silver Dollar GS track is one of the best venues on the Far West Masters tour schedule, providing competitors with a long and challenging course with multiple terrain features for course setters to exploit.More info
SPRING FLING AUTOCROSS
When: March 9 & 10
Where: Riverside County Fairgrounds, Hwy 111 and Arabia in Indio
Benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Cathedral City. $20 entry fee and $8 per run for additional autocross runs. Trophies will be awards, 50/50 cash drawings all day. Free admission for spectators. More info
ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTER FRY
When: March 16
Where: Virginia City
The historic mining town of Virginia City goes “nuts” for St. Patrick’s Day as folks line up to sample tasty testes prepared by chef’s competing for bragging rights! The event features marching leprechauns, green attractions, and Rocky Mountain Oysters (yep – beef and sheep testicles). It’s a fun-filled day of unique eating as professional and amateur cooks compete for the most creative and unique dishes utilizing these unique delicacies.
More than 20 cooks from around the West serve up tasty testes by grilling, frying or smoking them in delectable concoctions that make you forget what you’re really eating. It’s a full-on Irish Testicle Festival with a beer garden, live Irish music, individual and team ball-eating contests, parade and the Leprechaun Bar Crawl. Dress up in your most outlandish St. Patty’s Day garb and enjoy the lively atmosphere of Virginia City! More info

Where: Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum
Run in Reno’s vibrant and historic neighborhoods, Midtown and the Wells Avenue District, at the 7th annual Leprechaun Race. It’s an easy 5K that the whole family can enjoy. The relatively flat course starts and ends in front of the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. Runners or walkers of all abilities can easily participate in this fun run.
Race178’s official leprechaun will also be joining in on the race. If you beat the green elf across the finish line, you get a special prize! A portion of the race proceeds benefit the Discovery Museum. So wear a green outfit or create a St. Patrick’s Day costume and join the fun. More info
WINTER WONDER GRASS
When: March 29 – 31
Where: Squaw Valley
The 5th annual WinterWonderGrass music and brew festival takes place at Squaw Valley in majestic North Lake Tahoe. The event is part music festival, part beer tasting, part snow holiday and part family reunion for fans and family of all ages! It will be an epic three days of world-class Bluegrass/Acoustic Roots music on four stages, California and Nevada craft breweries and beer tasting all under the snow covered peaks at Squaw Valley.
